???? How to Manage DNS and Name Servers

DNS (Domain Name System) connects your domain name to your hosting server, making your website accessible online. With Fast Host Nig, you can easily manage your DNS records and name servers through cPanel or your domain panel.

???? Step 1: Log in to Your Client Area

Go to www.fasthost.com.ng → Client Area → Domains → My Domains.

Select the domain you want to manage.

???? Step 2: Locate Name Server Settings

Under your selected domain, find Manage Nameservers.

You’ll see two options:

1. Use Default Nameservers (recommended)

   • Example:

      

     ns1.fasthost.com.ng ns2.fasthost.com.ng

   This automatically connects your domain to your Fast Host Nig hosting.

2. Use Custom Nameservers

   • Choose this if your domain points to another provider.

After making changes, click Save Changes.
DNS updates may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate.

???? Step 3: Manage DNS Records

If your domain uses Fast Host Nig nameservers:

1. Log in to your cPanel.

2. Scroll to the Domains section → Click Zone Editor.

Here you can add, edit, or remove DNS records such as:

• A Record: Points your domain to your server’s IP address.

• CNAME Record: Redirects one domain to another (e.g., www to root domain).

• MX Record: Controls where your domain’s email is delivered.

• TXT Record: Used for verification or security (e.g., Google, SPF, DKIM).

???? Step 4: Add a New Record

1. Click Manage beside your domain.

2. Click Add Record.

3. Choose the type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT).

4. Fill in the required details and click Save Record.

???? Tip: Always double-check your entries — incorrect DNS settings can cause your site or email to stop working.

???? Step 5: Verify Changes

Once you update your records, allow up to 24 hours for propagation.
